Upcoming Annual Meeting on November 4th: Save the Date!
AFCON’s annual meeting will take place via
Zoom on Saturday, November 4, 2023, from
10:00 a.m. to Noon. We are delighted to
announce that youth rights activist Mary Beth
Tinker has agreed to be the keynote speaker.
Tinker was a plaintiff in Tinker v. Des Moines
(1969), in which the U.S. Supreme Court first recognized that students in public schools have free speech rights protected by the First Amendment. She has continued to speak out for youth rights ever since, including trips to Lincoln and Omaha.
Annual Meetings focus on some aspect of academic freedom.
